Blessing Oladokun is a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Ibadan (Ibadan, Nigeria) and a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (Omaha, NE).
He has worked as both an independent researcher and a research associate with non-governmental organizations in Nigeria and the United States. Most recently, he served as a researcher and data scientist at the m-Health ITD Lab at the University of Nebraska prior to beginning his doctoral program.
During his doctoral studies, Blessing’s research interests center on the application and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. His interest spans socio-technical systems, social determinants of health, and real-world clinical use cases in which AI (LLMs) and machine learning can be applied. Drawing on his background in statistics, he also maintains a strong interest in quantitative analytical methods.
Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Blessing enjoys soccer, classical music, and video gaming—particularly soccer games and Mortal Kombat.
